Hello! I’m Robin Lyons
I write mystery/thriller novels.
The concept for my School Marshal series came about after a beloved school principal and friend in my hometown was gunned down in his office by an employee. At the time, I was an elected school board member for the school district where the murder took place.
The loss felt by the school district and our community was tremendous. The tragedy changed my view of school safety and life in a small town.
As I researched school crimes, I became aware there are some bad people working at schools. Don’t take my word for it, check out my True-Crime Research where I summarize true-crimes, some occur at or are connected to schools.
Regarding the school crime case research – you may challenge me that the people who work at schools are good people. I’d mostly agree with you. I write about the 1% who shouldn’t have been hired in the first place.
Twenty-nine years working as a school employee and six years as an elected school board member provided a lot of inspiration for my stories.
Join my exclusive Reader Club
My reader club members aren’t pressured to buy anything. It’s a forum for me to stay connected to friends who enjoy my stories and friends who want to stay connected with me.
First, as a thank you for joining the club, you’ll receive a free eBook copy of “MAC: A Prequel Novella” ($2.99 value), where you’ll learn more about Mac MacKenna, the hometown hero in the School Marshal Series.
Then every Saturday, you’ll receive a brief email with a personal update, researched true-crime summaries, updates on new books, behind the scene details, or info about exclusive *giveaways. I write short emails so you can read quickly and then get on with your weekend.
*Sadly, because of sweepstakes laws and shipping costs, most of my giveaways are only available to USA residents. My family members aren’t eligible for drawings (sorry, my loves).
