Volunteering in 5th-Grade

Sadly, there was a school shooting this week at a middle school in Indiana. The motive is unknown. Someone learned of the threat and called in to report it. The authorities acted fast, the school went into lock-down, and the only casualty was the shooter who took his own life. My heart hurts for all involved including the family of the deceased. Brave accolades go to the person who saw something and said something.

The married, father of three had been the high school principal for three years. Before advancing to the principal, he’d worked as a high school teacher.

Busted

His downfall began when a former student learned nude photos she had taken for her boyfriend while in high school were on the internet. She went to the authorities.

School Principal Blinded By Love

For additional funding and to comply with the Safe and Drug-Free Schools Community Act (SDFSCA), schools in the US have adopted drug and violence prevention programs for students, teachers, staff, and parent education. Programs vary from school to school.

If staff alcohol and/or drug related issues occur, the school district would also utilize employment contracts, school board policies, and bargaining unit contracts to take appropriate action.

What teenager doesn’t want money? I know, that’s a silly question. But what will they do to get money? Most would be willing to do honest work. A few would be willing to do almost anything.

The school employee in this researched case gave willing teens what they wanted. Money.
