He’s a Cold-Hearted Killer

Is there a bunch of shenanigans going on behind the scenes to get politicians elected? There’s no doubt in my mind.

When you’ve been a political consultant for many years who has used questionable tactics to help get people elected, you might look over your shoulder more than most people and perhaps begin to question friendships.

This consultant had worked with a man for many years when he became fearful their relationship had soured. He pitched the murder-for-hire to another associate and offered thousands of dollars. This man then recruited an accomplice with whom he’d worked.

The two hitmen went to the target’s home, where they murdered the man, then set his home on fire attempting to hide the killing. Afterward, the political consultant paid the primary hitman the promised sum.

Does anyone ever truly know the motive behind heinous crimes like this one? The sentencing judge stated that the political consultant claimed the justification for the murder-for-hire was that the associate was extorting him for money to stay quiet about knowing things the consultant had done that would implicate high-level political figures.

The sentencing judge also said,

“He’s a cold-hearted killer. He killed a friend.”

Rather than go to trial, the accused pleaded guilty to hiring two men to kill his long-time friend—conspiring to commit murder.

The prosecution requested 15-years in prison. The defense requested nine-years. Making his own decision, the judge sentenced the 45-year-old former political consultant to 24-years in prison followed by five years of supervised release.

After the sentencing, the victim’s sister said,

She felt “stupid, betrayed, and regret that comes after learning that this person you cried and embraced at your brother’s funeral was the one solely responsible for your brother’s death.”

The two co-conspirators pleaded guilty to their involvement. A judge sentenced the 74-year-old primary hitman to 16 years in prison and the other man, age 62, who actually committed the murder, to 20-years in prison.
