Prior to his arrest he worked as a junior high school custodian for a K-12 school district. Sadly, this is another case of a sexual predator working with children.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alerted the FBI about some pornographic images found on the internet. It took several months before investigators identified the man molesting a child victim between 4 and 8 years old. Not only had he recorded videos, but he’d also shared his molestation videos with more than 250 people who ‘collect’ child pornography. The child was not a student at the school where he worked—her identity and relationship remained confidential.
After his arrest and pending trial, he pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography. He admitted filming the molestation of a 6-year-old girl and uploading it to the Internet to share with others.
In a sentencing memorandum, prosecutors wrote, “The magnitude of such harm to [the victim] cannot be overstated.”
His attorney asked the judge for a 12-year sentence. The prosecution asked for a 22-year sentence. The judge sentenced him to 23-years.
